WCMA Awards Dinner set for April 13

The Wire & Cable Manufacturers' Alliance (WMCA) will honor the eight recipients of its 2013 Distinguished Career Award at the organization's 29th annual Awards Dinner and Investiture Ceremony on April 13, 2013, in Hartford, Connecticut, at the Connecticut Convention Center.

A press release said that the 2013 recipients include: John Berlin, president, Carlisle Interconnect Technologies; Dave Ely, president, Chromatics, Inc.; Dan Jones, president/CEO, Encore Wire; David McDonald, president, Cable USA; Peter Page, president, Amphenol Times Microwave; David Richards, COO, RichardsApex, Inc.; Daniel Rubadue, COO, Rubadue Wire Co., Inc.; and John Valentine, retired, president, Alpha Wire/Belden.

The recipients were chosen via a nomination process that includes more than a hundred prior award recipients. After a review of the ballot results, the former recipients on the WCMA Board of Directors select the new recipients based on character, credibility and significant commercial or technical contributions over a minimum of 25 years in the industry. The WCMA notes that it continues the tradition of recognizing industry professionals that was started in 1985 by the late Dick and Harriet Callahan, founders of the Wire & Cable Clubs of America, which was succeeded by WCMA in 2004.
