ACCC conductors from CTC Global used in Portuguese project
CTC Global announced that the company's ACCC conductors have now been used for a total of three installations in Portugal.
A press release said that EDP, described as a leading international energy company with operations in 10 countries (Portugal, Spain, U.S., Canada, Brazil, France, Belgium, Poland, Russia and Africa), installed ACCC conductor at two additional project sites in Portugal.
The first project was done to increase capacity and improve clearances over long-span river and highway crossings on the River Mondego/Highway A14. The second project, it said, was at an area known as Gala-Vila Robim, is located in Figueira, Da Foz. EDP, it said, selected the company's 714 kcmil (367 sq mm) ACCC Amsterdam-size conductor for the 60kV reconductor project. Electricidade Industrial Portuguesa, S.A. was the installation contractor., and use of the CTC Global's ACCC conductor offered an improvement in clearance by 11 meters on the 475-meter span, it said. EDP's third project, also a 60 kV line, is known as 'Areias-Vale B Do Tejo' and located in Vila Franca da Xira, Portugal. EDP used the same Amsterdam size ACCC conductor. The installation contractor was Visabrirain-Estruturas.
