Presenter: Lisa Evans, Director of Health Care, Southwire, Co., USA

With the uncertainty of the presidential election in the past, the path to implementation of health care reform in the United States is becoming clearer. Lisa Evans, Director of Health Care at Southwire Co., has been following the issue closely. She shares her insight for what the following four key health care provisions could mean for wire and cable companies: 1. an individual coverage mandate requiring coverage or else imposing a tax; 2. health exchanges making coverage available for all regardless of health or pre-existing conditions; 3. a pay or play mandate making employers pay a penalty if coverage is not adequate or affordable; and 4. an excise tax in 2018 on plans valued above a certain dollar amount.
