For optimum performance, we recommends that you view our site using the latest versions of Internet Explorer, Mozilla or Safari. As we develop our site, we continually test with and optimize for these browsers. You can download our recommended browsers from the following sites:

Mozilla Firefox version 17 or higher (Windows or Mac)
Google Chrome version 22 or higher (Windows)
Apple Safari version 5 or higher (Mac)

Browser Plug-Ins

Using a variety of technologies, wirenet.org gives you a dynamic Web experience that's fast and easy to use. The following plug-ins, all available via free downloads, will help you get the most out of wirenet.org:

Adobe Reader version 7.0 or higher—for viewing Adobe Acrobat PDF files
Adobe Flash version 9 or higher—for playing video and animations
Apple Quicktime—for playing Quicktime audio and video files
Windows Media Player—for playing audio and video files

Why does the text look so small/large?

For some visitors, our Web site may appear to have a different size font than they are used to. If this is the case, your Web browser might be configured to display text in a larger or smaller font than normal. To adjust the font size in most browsers, look for a text size option under the "View" menu.

How do I download PDFs?

WAI publishes many documents, such as journal articles, in Portable Document Format (PDF). This allows these documents to be downloaded and printed with their original formatting intact. These files require the Adobe Acrobat® Reader (Version 7.0 or higher) to be viewed and printed. This reader is free and may be downloaded from the Adobe Web site.

How do I download/view PowerPoint files?

WAI occasionally provides copies of PowerPoint presentations on the Web site. If you do not have Microsoft PowerPoint installed on your computer, you can still view these documents by using the PowerPoint Viewer. This software is free and may be downloaded from the Microsoft Web site.

How do I search for...?

WAI's search engine is an easy way to find the information you are seeking. We offer many search engines based on your site location.

The main WAI site search is in the upper-left hand of all wirenet.org pages. Here you can search the artciles, forums, newsfeeds, events and our financial engine.
Thr abstract search allows you to search all products on our wirenet.org storefront. You can find this search tool on the very top of the page by visiting our mywai.org site or by visiting the abstract page on this site by clicking here.
The VTS (Virtual Tradeshow) can search for companies in the wire and cable industry. You can find it by clicking on the left-hand menu labeled: "Virtual Tradeshow"
We have other search engines integrated into other systems, please contact us if you have any questions.

Why can't I find what I am looking for?

Due to the large volume of content available on the WAI Web site, it can sometimes be difficult to find what you are looking for. There are several tools available to assist you in finding what you are looking for such as the wirenet.org search engine, site map and a search engine for technical abstracts.

What does WAI do to make its Web site accessible?

The WAI Web site is built to provide access for a widening variety of newer technologies and Web browsers, including assistive technologies for the Internet. For most visitors, our site is now easier to use, quicker to access, and more streamlined for updates and modifications.
