Event Background

Interwire is an international trade event that includes exhibiting companies, speakers, and attendees from 50 countries around the world who want to attend the most important business week for wire and cable in the Americas.

The largest and longest-running wire and cable marketplace in the Americas, Interwire is also ranked as one of the 200 largest trade shows in the U.S. by Tradeshow Week magazine. Interwire is the place where buyers, sellers, researchers, and speakers connect with new contacts and colleagues. The show crosses dozens of vertical industries including automotive, construction, aerospace, transportation, and communications, to name a few.

Cleveland's spacious I-X Center will host exhibits and WAI's 79th Annual Convention activities April 25-30, 2009.

Exhibits

Interwire typically includes more than 500 exhibiting companies that supply or manufacture wire, cable and fastener, formed and fabricated wire products. In 2009, the International Fastener Exposition, organized by The International Fastener Machinery & Suppliers Association (IFMSA), will again co-locate with Interwire. Visitors to either event will have the advantage of seeing all of the exhibits with one registration.

Exhibiting companies typically fall into several groups: suppliers to the wire making industry (i.e., wiredrawing machinery, insulation, raw materials); manufacturers of wire; or processors of the wire end product (i.e., for wire bending, forming for baskets, hooks, fasteners). Exhibit space is still available. Contact WAI sales for more information about exhibiting at Interwire 2009.

Program details are in process. Check back to this page and in future issues of Wire Journal International for upcoming details about Interwire 2009.

International Buyers Program

New for Interwire 2009 - WAI's Interwire 2009 has earned the support of the U.S. Department of Commerce International Buyers Program (IBP). This program is designed to assist U.S. companies with export assistance to countries around the world. Through the help of the IBP representatives, who will be working onsite at Interwire, pre-arranged one-on-one meetings can be set between exhibitors who wish to export their products and buyers who travel to Interwire seeking certain products. To view the complete article that ran in the November issue of The Wire Journal International, click here.

WAI will offer an International Business Center as part of the International Buyer Program (IBP), where visitors and delegation groups will be greeted by representatives of the Department of Commerce's International Buyer's Program for their pre-set business meetings with exhibitors. The International Business Center will be set up along the Promenade area adjacent to the exhibits at the I-X Center. Translators will be available.

A series of educational presentations will be offered at the International Business Center which will put further focus on U.S. exports and how the DOC's programs can help. This short video can show you how the IBP Program can help you meet your company's export goals. See the International Business Center hours.
