Program Overview

The Wire Association International (WAI), Inc. will visit Monterrey, Mexico, in 2010 to organize an international technical conference with co-sponsor Asociación Nacional de Transformadores de Acero A.C. (ANTAAC). Based on the strength of the 2007 event in the same location, WAI returns to Monterrey for the latest industry information.

Highlights:

• Technical paper presentations - Learn today's most pressing manufacturing issues. Choose from 22 technical presentations topics and an operational best practices session. Q & A time provided.

• Plant Tour - Tour Delphi Packard Electrical/Electronic Architecture Division, one of the world's largest producers of automotive wiring harnesses

Plant Tour - Ensamble de Cables y Componentes, Guadalupe III

This Delphi Packard Electrical/Electronic Architecture Division plant, located at Guadalupe, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, began operations in June 1999 with a strong focus on Delphi's Excellence Philosophy of exdeeding customer expectations. The company's primary product is automotive harnesses and its main customers are Ford, Hyundai, and Kia.

The company received the Q1 Ford Award for its commitment to quality and also received ISO 9000 Certification and the IS0 14001 and Industria Limpia Awards for its work with the community and the environment. The plant currently employees approximately 2,700 people under the leadership of Plant Manager Quirino Anaya.

ITC participants will visit the Delphi Packard Electrical/Electronic Architecture Division where the company manufactures components and systems for the automotive industry.

Background

Each year WAI hosts an educational conference in a different country to bring together industry experts from around the world who share the latest research findings in a particular segment of the wire and cable industry with their peers and colleagues. Usually scheduled over a two- to three-day period, the International Technical Conferences include white paper presentations—which are typically offered with simultaneous translation—a tabletop exhibition, plant tours, guest tours, and social functions.

With full registration, attendees receive Conference Proceedings materials which include all of the papers that are presented at the event.

The 2009 International Technical Conference was held in Istanbul, Turkey. Past ITC locations include: India, the Czech Republic, Mexico, Italy, Canada, England, Poland, Belgium, and Germany.
