Hello klnp_mysore,
I am sure you know that each individual wire in the strand carries a portion of the power and that there is no jumping of electricity from wire to wire. Thus the electricity follows the helix of each wire in the strand.
The best way to determine the the resistance of your strand is:
- First, precisely manufacture the strand according to the specification.
- Second, determine the temperature corrected resistance of the strand according to your specification. The best way to determine the strand resistance is to use a properly calibrated, off-line resistance bridge from a good instrument company such as ASEA Cortaillod (
www.aesa-cortaillod.com/energy/ ).
- Third, develop a long term SPC program for drawing and stranding so that your company can properly control strand manufacture now and in the future.
