Causes of breakages of you galvanized wires
1.-Rods.- Lap, Pipe, inclusions , segregations
2.- Drawing.- Inadecuate lubrication,damaged guides pullies or dies, overdrawing
3.- Chemical Descaleing.-Hydrogen enbrittlement mainly if hot hydrochloric acid is used.

Any of the above causes are increased by the galvanizing process
