Enamel dies for rectangular wires was created by Archived Forum Admin
My Company is into manufacturing of enameled round and rectangular copper wire. We are producing rectangular enameled wires (5 sq. mm to 70 Sq.mm) with felt die for enamel wiping. We are not fully satisfied with the
wiping system as occasional roughness or enamel lumps are formed sometimes. We want the entire length to be 100 % lint/lump free and want a smooth surface.

I am looking for suggestions on other types of enamel dies here. The surface of the copper wire is clean and smooth. We produce both from rolling and continuous xtrusion.

Thanks in advance.

Check Bettner Wire Die located in Columbus, IN USA. They have been making wire enameling dies for about 50 years and are the best. They make a universal die which is used for shaped wire.

Bettner dies are metal. they make solid, split, dome, doghouse, roller, and dies for shaped wires. You will not get lint with them. Lint is usually due to using rags and sometimes lost cost felts. As for lumps, dies can help you get a nice concentric coating. Lumps can be caused by a variety of problems, some due to enamel mixture. Filters do a good job of straining out the lumps.
