Rules

Using wirenet.org Forums is FREE, by logging in you agree to the terms and conditions below.

Wirenet Forums are designed for the free exchange of technical information among members of the wire and cable industry. They are a medium for the discussion of issues relevant to the manufacture of wire and cable.

Participants in the Forums are expected to observe the following rules of appropriate conduct:

Be polite. Rude, abusive, or profane postings will not be tolerated.

No commercialism. The Forums are not a free advertising vehicle. It is inevitable that discussion of technical problems will lead to discussion of other sources for solutions. And WAI's mission of serving the industry holds the promotion of business as one of its foremost goals. But please be sensitive to members who seek technical advice and expertise, not sales pitches.

No topic "bumping." Do not reply to your own question in an attempt to move it to the top of the list as the most recently updated discussion. It may take a couple of days to receive a response, so please be patient.

No cross-posting. Do not post the same question in several categories in hopes of yielding more responses.

Stay on topic. Do not hijack discussions by changing the subject from the originator's initial posting. To change the subject, start a new discussion.

Other tips:

Choose an appropriate category. Moderators and respondents monitor the areas of their individual expertise. Posting a question in the wrong category or in "General" as a catch-all will make helpful replies less likely.

Choose a descriptive subject. To entice others to read your post, use language that describes your topic well. Vague subjects like "Problems" or "Help me!" are less useful.

Search. Before posting a new discussion, use the search feature to see if existing discussions have already addressed a given topic.

The administrators of this site reserve the right to restrict access, at their discretion, for anyone they believe is consistently in violation of these rules.

The IP addresses of all posts are recorded to aid in the enforcement of these rules.

The webmaster, administrators, and moderators of this forum reserve the right to remove, edit, or move any topic or discussion at any time.

** Any information posted on the forums is stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without the consent of the relevant participants in any discussion, the webmaster, administrators, and moderators are not responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to compromise of data. **

WAI is not responsible for the accuracy or timeliness of any information posted by discussion participants. Individual postings should be viewed as opinion and advice only.
