B&H Tool reports recapitalization/key investor/new senior technical manager

U.S.-based B&H Tool Company LLC (B&H) announced that John Ulcej has joined the California company as both an investor and as director of engineering and manufacturing, an addition that company President and CEO Peter Neville said will greatly bolster its technology expertise, product development and manufacturing.

A press release said that Ulcej, who held key positions, including part owner, at Extrusion Dies Industries (EDI), a manufacturer of sheet and film dies, has a wealth of experience that will enable B&H to offer customers an exceptional level of technical solutions and service. "He is a hands-on mechanical engineer who brings 30 years of plastics processing, tooling and metalworking experience to B&H, along with years of leading successful companies," it said.

"We needed to upgrade our capabilities in technology, engineering and manufacturing," said Neville, who will retain his current roles. He observed that since he bought B&H in 1994, there has been a tremendous change in the domestic and international market for extrusion tooling, making it critically important to provide innovation to the extrusion market. "That is why I am excited for B&H and our customers. John's background, experience and commitment are a perfect fit for what we need to continue to service the needs of our customers, employees, suppliers and other constituents for another 46 years."

Neville said that Ulcej is an outstanding resource because of his "understanding of the needs of the plastics industry in terms of polymer processing, polymer flow analysis, tooling design and precision manufacturing techniques." He added that the scope of B&H--which provides engineering, production and technical support to companies who manufacture wire, cable, tubing, hose, pipe and profiles--will be expanded by Ulcej in its current markets as well as see its entry into new ones.
