Metalloid opens larger facility in Texas

Metalloid Corporation, based in Sturgis, Michigan, reports that it has opened a new, larger facility in Jacksonville, Texas, expanding the company's capacity for producing green metalworking fluids and other chemical specialty products by 60%.

A press release said that the larger facility, 54,000 sq ft, replaces the old facility in Jacksonville, and includes laboratory, office and manufacturing  capabilities. "This expansion was necessary to support business growth in both the HVAC and Metalworking market segments," it said. The company also has a plant in Huntington, Michigan.

Per its website, the company manufactures specialty lubricants, industrial cleaners and corrosion preventatives for metal processors in markets such as automotive, HVAC, appliance, electrical and aerospace. Metalloid Corporation was founded in 1951 in Huntington, Indiana, and in 2002 expanded operations to include a facility in Jacksonville, Texas. European, Middle Eastern and Asia markets are served by Metalloid's licensee, Burr Held, S.A.R.L., in France.
