Removing XLPE from dies 5 years 1 month ago #1753

Is there any method for easy removal of XLPE debris from extruder dies/nipples and breaker plates ?

Hello Abhaya.

Keep you tooling in perfect shape with mirror finishes. Remove the tooling when it is still hot and manually pull the the plastic from it. It should pull right off and if there is any residual, polish it off with extremely fine emery paper. By the way, the plastic is still a thermoplastic when the tooling is removed hot from the crosshead.
