Dear all can anyone advise what IEC or BS standard that i can refer to calculate capacitance, impedance and attenuation for twisted pair screened cable. currently we have an order of twisted pair screened cable, 1 pair 0.8mm2, copper wire-7/0.4mm, XLPE insulation thickness 0.9mm, Aluminum foil 100% coverage, what is the formula to use to calculate capacitance- pF/meter, impedance in Ohm and attenuation per km in 39KHz.
We note that your company, East-Mint Marketing in Singapore, markets third party manufactured wire and cable products primarily in South-East Asia and Oceania. We also note that your company is tied to a wire and cable company in Malaysia.
Finally we have also noted that you are asking ever increasing complex questions about wire and cable design which are not easily answered in a forum such as this. This present set of questions requires electrical engineering understanding of shielded multi-conductor wire and cable products.
We therefore kindly suggest that you should be carefully discussing this with the product design engineers at your plant and/ or at the other wire and cable company plants you market for. They will be able to give you very detailed technical information by fax or by the internet. That is the best way to build your technical library.
As far as standards are concerned, here are the web sites where you can purchase the ones you referred to:
