TOPIC: Testing Cables

Testing Cables 2 years 11 months ago #589

I want to test electrical parameters of data cables like Attenuation, Cross talk and Characteristics Impedance with the HP 8751 A Network Analyzer using 100 Ohm baluns. Can some one provide the step wise method for testing the same.

Hello there,

I was going to suggest that you talk with a local representative from HP (Now sold to Agilent.) but unfortunately I learned that the HP/ Agilent 8751A was discontinued in November 1999 and active support was discontinued October 2004. The HP/ Agilent 8751A was replaced by the Agilent 4395A Network/Spectrum/Impedance Analyzer.

It may still be worth a try to deal with Agilent in this regard.

Kindest regards,
