TOPIC: HTLS Conductor

HTLS Conductor 2 years 11 months ago #1391

I am working for a leading manufacturer of ACSR & AAC Conductors. We are interested in collaborating/technology transfer or just supply of central high temperature low sag steel or aluminum-zirconium alloy core for manufacturing HTLS Conductors.

Request any relevant input in the matter please.

Hello;

I have assumed that you are interested in HTLS or High Temperature, Low Sag bare overhead power cable since since you are already a manufacturer of ACSR and AAC conductors. This is because HTS is also an acronym for High Temperature Superconducting cable.

If my assumption is correct, 3M is the major manufacturer of the type of products you are thinking of. Perhaps you should contact them. There is however much secrecy around the manufacture of the strength members (Strands and closing of same.). solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/EMD_ACCR/ACCR_Home/

If you visit WAI's Virtual Trade Show and select "aluminum alloy conductor" www.wirenet.org/vts/vts_search.cfm you will find 19 manufacturers and some of these manufacture and sell aluminum-zirconium alloy rod for overhead electrical conductor redraw. Unfortunately I am bound by secrecy agreements and cannot discuss this matter further.

Super conductor technology is a very interesting technology probably such as interesting as fiber optic technology a few decades ago. The pioneer-people around this technology are winning a lot of technology competitions/prizes here in Europe. I hope that these people don´t make the same mistakes as the fiber optic people... I´m living near a 60 Million Euro ruin...

Best regards and good luck

We propose to make ACSS or ACSS/TW types with Aluminum clad high tension steel wire core

Any help is welcome

Thanks again
