Dear all;

We drawing wire for bedding spring but sometimes our wire and spring machine is run with good and sometimes run with bad. When run with bad, we see the spring different shape or changed with height etc. We now that we couldnt change anything but our wire is sometimes good , sometimes bad on run with bedding spring machines. If the only variability is wire rod, do we search the problem on wire rod ? or investigate something else.

This problem can be due to:
1.- Mis-adjustments of the tools of the spring making machine.
2.- Variations in lubricant content on the wire causing different slips on the guiding tool of the spring making machine.
3.- Variation in types of lubricant used which in turn causes adjustments in the machine for each different type of lubricant.
4.- Variations on tensile strength of feeding wire.

Solutions
1.-Consistency on type and content of lubricant used on the wire.
2.-Consistency on wires tensile strength.
3.-Proper and continuous adjustment of the tools of the spring making machine.

Thank you for your valuable help.

About variation in lubricant content on wire, how can we measure or observe the content of lubricant on final dia wire. We use inclusive Na and Ca lubricant on wire drawing dies. In order to clarify the problem and do some test, how can we draw the wire for see the differences on spring machine ?
