Zinc wire for thermal spray application was created by Ing Enrico Conte
Hello everybody !!
For wiredrawing zinc wire (EN-ISO 14919, inlet dia.4-4,5mm, min.outlet dia.1,2-1,6mm) which is the best elongation for the die sequence ? I was thinking that an elongation 19-21% could be ok in a fully submerged machine.
What do you think ? Any suggestion ?

Hello Enrico,

I have checked all my reference books, all over the Internet and used the WAI Education Abstract Search but I can find no information on drawing zinc wire from rod or larger diameter wire. It may therefore take a longer period of time to get an answer because we are dependent upon a qualified reader to provide the appropriate information. I think a fully submerged machine would be the right approach but as far as the elongation goes, it is definitely a question. Sorry I cannot help further.

Hi Peter, thanks for your reply.
I've searched some info on internet, but I didn't find any particularly info apart general info about characteristics of zinc etc.
I will share all info I'll get in next weeks with all of you.
Enrico
