There has been so much written on these subjects, I thought best to give you a starting spot.

- Importance of the Conductor and Control of its Properties for Magnet Wire Applications by Horace Pops, April 1993

- Speed Effects in Magnet Wire Drawing by Roger N. Wright and Gil Baker, October 1993

- Current Trends in Wire Enamelling Systems by Richard E. Burke, November 1997

- High Performance Magnet Wires by Gregory G. Kiproff and Ronald J. Beeckman, June 2004

Wire Technology International Magazine

- In-Line Viscosity Control, November 1994

- Improving Enamelling Quality, by Ing. Antonio Spizzamiglio, September 1998

Wow, 11 weeks later.

For The Wire Journal International magazine papers, go up to the Wire Associational International, Inc. home page ( www.wirenet.org/ ) and click on the "Technical" button. Once there, do an "Abstract Search" or search the "Technical Archives". You must be a member of course.

For The Wire & Cable Technology International magazine papers, go to their home page ( www.wiretech.com/index.html ) and contact them for reprints. You should also subscribe to this magazine. It is free for those in the industry.

For the IEEE Electrical Insulation Magazine go to the web site (
www.ieee.org/organizations/pubs/magazines/ei.htm ) and contact them to see if you can get a copy of the
article.

Your local University Engineering Library may as well have these magazines.

Note that the Wire Journal is free to qualified readers as well as the Wire & Cable Technology (you can sign up at their websites). As far as I know you do NOT need to be a member of the WAI in order to purchase previously printed articles or technical papers. You do get a discount if you are a member.

Thanks for the extra commercial information Eric. I was not aware that the WAI magazine is being given free to qualified individuals. I do appreciate your input! After paying for membership for over 30 years, getting the WAJ for free never even crossed my mind.

Regarding your second comment though, you might notice that I suggested the person do his/ her own search as follows:

"Once there, do an "Abstract Search" or search the "Technical Archives". You must be a member of course."

That cannot be done without first logging in as a member.

I stand corrected as far as the Abstract Search which is only available to members. The Wire Journal is autmatically included as part of membership but is also available as complimentary to those in the industry. Sign up form is available online at wirenet.org.
